Area residents made their way to Springfield Friday to try out for "American Idol".

Kendall Seaton from Beecher City gave it a shot. Kendall said she started pursuing her dream to sing a few years ago, and she figured the audition might give her the exposure she needs to make it.

Seaton sang "Dirty Dishes" by Scotty McCreery during her audition Friday morning, but Idol rules prohibit her from saying whether she made it to the next round.

Allie Keck of Neoga, a former Texaco KJ Country Showdown contestant, also tried out Friday.

Idol producers will be listening to Hollywood hopefuls again today between 10am and 5pm. Former "American Idol" contestants were live in concert Friday night at the fair.
