A Mattoon man has received prison time from a Shelby County court case.

20-year-old Zachary Hardin made admission Monday to a petition to revoke his probation and received a three-year prison term on the original charge of theft over $500.

The sentence will be served along with sentences out of Coles and Moultrie counties for burglary.

Hardin was originally arrested after Shelby County Sheriff's Investigator Rob McCall learned that Hardin had been involved in criminal trespass to several vehicles in the Lithia Springs Marina area in November 2012. A warrant was issued at the time, but Hardin was not arrested until April 2013. He pled guilty a month later and was placed on two years' probation.

The petition to revoke Hardin's probation alleged further criminal activity and a failure to perform required public service work as ordered.
