Two Area Residents Killed in Missouri Crash

Two area residents were killed in a crash in Perry County, Missouri Friday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting 28-year-old Omar Lira of Effingham and 30-year-old Joaquin Ixtepan of Lakewood were killed in the crash that involved a truck and a semi. The crash occurred during the noon hour Friday on Missouri Highway 51 at Route H. Perry County is located in southeastern Missouri.

A passenger in the vehicle in which the two men killed were traveling, 34-year-old Victor Ixtepan of Effingham, was seriously injured in the crash. The driver of the semi, 57-year-old Kenneth Weaver of Red Bud, was also injured.

Troopers say the truck in which the local men were traveling was southbound when the semi pulled out into their path and the truck ended up underneath it.
