Altamont Man's Death Due to Natural Causes

The death of an Altamont man was due to natural causes.

A family member, conducting a welfare check, found 61-year-old Dennis Nichols dead in his residence just before 1:30pm Wednesday. Altamont police, fire and ambulance responded and after arriving at the scene requested that the coroner be notified. County Coroner Duane Guffey responded to the scene.

The investigation by the Coroner and Altamont police determined that Nichols died due to natural causes and that no foul play is involved.
