Beecher City Getting Ready for "Corn Fest"

The 2nd Annual Corn Fest is set for Saturday in Beecher City.

Activities will be centered around Beecher City Community Park.

A parade will step off at 9am, starting at Miller Ag and ending at the village park. Lineup will begin at 8am. Forms can be dropped off at the Beecher City Journal office or mailed to Beecher City Journal Office, 104 S. Charles St., Beecher City, IL 62414.

Other highlights:

--Petting Zoo from 10am to 2pm

--Bounce houses, vendors and a dunk tank from 10am to 5pm

--Fire Department extrication demonstrations at 11am, noon and 1pm

--Kids games with prizes at 2pm

--live music by "Straight Lace" from 7 to 10pm

--a drawing for prizes at intermission of the "Straight Lace" performance

--a variety of refreshments starting at 9:30am and lasting until they run out. The menu includes porkburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cole slaw, Schottman's sweet corn, watermelon, shakeups, snow cones and more
