There were six days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois for the week ending July 20.

Statewide precipitation averaged .52 inches, .36 inches below normal. Average temperature was 67.5 degrees, 9.4 degrees below normal. 

Wheat harvest reached 95% complete. Corn silking reached 82%, ahead of the five-year average of 70%.

Corn condition was rated at 81% good to excellent. Soybean blooming was at 69%, ahead of the five-year average of 55%. Soybean condition was rated at 77% good to excellent. Sorghum headed and oats headed reached 29% and 96% complete, respectively.

Pasture condition was rated at 1% very poor, 2% poor, 25% fair, 54% good, and 18% excellent.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 9% short, 83% adequate, and 8% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1% very short, 14% short, 80% adequate, and 5% surplus.
