Dieterich village board members Monday dealt with a number of infrastructure improvement projects.

The Board agreed to advertise their sewage lagoon construction project that involves replacing part of the existing lagoon and adding aeration, and heard that work is moving ahead on the Amy Street construction project with curb and guttering in place and paving to take place this week.

There was more discussion of resurfacing Steppe Drive in the area of First National Bank of Dieterich, with the Board asking for bids on concrete, asphalt and oil and chip work on the street; and the Board approved a variance and a building permit application for an accessory building at 110 Church Street. The Board approved training by the Dieterich and other area fire departments on an LP burn on Village property, probably in the industrial park later this summer; and agreed to install a storm sewer and inlets on Vine Street by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the church paying for a culvert and the village doing the installation.

Board members agreed to make the intersection of Loda and Maple Streets a three-way stop; agreed to purchase a two-person eight-foot boat with trolling motor for $300 for use on the village pond; discussed requiring an application and permit for homeowners to tile their ditches and then decided to check with other towns to see what they do; and agreed to clean out the creek west of the bridge by the Tom and Jodi Hardiek property.
