A Neoga girl was injured in a crash in Dieterich involving two ATVs. The crash happened at 10:35pm Friday on Main Street, just north of Waldhoff Avenue.

The four-wheelers were northbound and Effingham County Sheriff's deputies say an uninvolved vehicle slowed to turn into a driveway. The lead ATV driven by 20-year-old Dylan Probst of Wheeler slowed for the turning vehicle and was rear-ended by the trailing ATV driven by 19-year-old Travis Lidy of rural Teutopolis. Probst's ATV overturned and threw Probst and his passenger, 19-year-old Cassidy Strohl of Neoga, off the unit. Strohl was injured and was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana. HOSPITAL OFFICIALS SAY STROHL IS NO LONGER A PATIENT AT CARLE. Probst was injured but refused treatment. Neither Lidy nor his passenger, 19-year Travis Walk of Sigel, was injured.

Lidy was cited for DUI alcohol, illegal consumption by a minor, improper operation of an ATV on a roadway, and failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash. Probst was cited for improper operation of an ATV on the roadway. Walk was cited for illegal consumption of liquor by a minor and obstructing a peace officer.
