Two 18-year-olds from Effingham were injured in a crash in Clay County early Sunday morning.
State police say the crash occurred at 3:29am on US 45, a quarter-mile north of Louisville. A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jordyn Hartke of Effingham ran off the highway to the left and struck a utility pole.
Hartke was injured along with her passenger, 18-year-old Ashley Rieman of Effingham. Both driver and passenger were taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora for treatment.
State police cited Hartke for DUI, illegal consumption of liquor by a minor and not wearing a seat belt.
