The last entries in the 2014 Race Across America are reaching Effingham.
The race has already been won. Christoph Strasser of Austria reached the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland, Wednesday at 7am. Strasser set a blistering pace, riding more than 900 miles in the first two days of the competition, which began June 10 in Oceanside, California.
World class athletes from 20 different countries are competing in this year's cross country bike race.
Unique to this year's race was an area rider. Keith Wolcott from Charleston came through Effingham at 2:37pm Wednesday.
There was even a celebrity; Pippa Middleton, sister of Princess Kate of England and their brother John are part of a team that came through Effingham at 3:12am Thursday.
Mike Tipton, who organizes the Effingham Time Station at Effingham High School, expects the final entries to come through town Friday morning.
