Cumberland school board members heard from Ag instructor Charlie Sappington at this week's meeting.

Sappington spoke regarding a proposed greenhouse for the District.  The Board will consider the greenhouse at its May meeting.

The Board also heard from Kent Dunning, who presented information regarding a video board for Waltrip Gym and a marquee for the area in front of Cumberland High School.  The Board took the information under advisement.

Cumberland board members adopted student handbook changes for next school year; authorized Superintendent John Hasten to start work on next year's district budget; approved the Risk Management Plan for the district; hired Jill Vogt to fill the leave of absence of Jill Mathenia for next school year; employed Missie Briggs as an 8th grade Social Studies/Science/Reading teacher; hired Sydney Stults as an Early Childhood Pre-K teacher for next year; and to employ Jenna Young as a 3rd grade teacher for next year.  The Board also voted to "regretfully" accept the resignation of teacher Kevin Macha as of the end of the school year.  The vote was 3-3 until one changed their mind and voted to accept the resignation.
