Lake Land College has named Jean Anne Grunloh of Effingham as the Executive Assistant to the President at the college.

In this position, Grunloh will represent the Office of the President, provide leadership in legislative relations and strategic planning, serve as a liaison to the Board of Trustees and manage special projects.

"Jean Anne will continue to build on the relationships Lake Land College has with our communities, regional workforce and area legislators," said Josh Bullock, president of the college.  "There are many exciting opportunities for the college to partner with organizations to foster economic growth and create new learning opportunities for students."

Grunloh previously served as executive director of East Central Illinois Development Corporation (ECIDC), an 11-county, regional economic development group, and led the organization's collaborative efforts to promote the region and enhance the quality of life for residents through projects such as: the East Central Illinois Super Region to address manufacturing workforce skill needs; addressing broadband (high-speed internet) access and adoption needs in the region's rural areas; development of the East Central Illinois Wine Trail Maps that earned ECIDC an Excellence in Agri-Tourism Award; and development of EastCentralIllinoisEvents.com to raise awareness within the region of community-sponsored events, festivals and farmers markets.

Prior to consulting for ECIDC, Grunloh owned and operated Friends Home Care, a business she created and grew to employ 25 people.  Grunloh earned a bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Indiana State University.  She has served on numerous local and regional boards, is a member of the Illinois Development Council and regularly participates in events that benefit local charities throughout east central Illinois.
