St. Elmo School Board Gets Updates

St. Elmo Grade School Principal Sean Hannagan told school board members Tuesday that letters were going out today to his students.  The "Welcome Back" letters will inform students who their teachers will be for the 2012-2013 school year.

Superintendent Deb Philpot reported that the district will hold school registration on August 1 and 2 from 10am to 6pm each day.  Philpot also reported that the district will be receiving 11% less in State Aid money this fiscal year as compared to Fiscal 2011.

In action items, the St. Elmo Board:

--cancelled their contract with Illinois Energy Consortium and approved a two-year contract with First Energy Solutions

--approved Marcia Heckert as district treasurer

--directed Philpot to start work on the coming year's budget

--accepted Wade Nevergall's resignation as 7th grade boys basketball coach

--accepted Lindsay Weaber's resignation as junior high cheerleading sponsor

--accepted John Hall's resignation as full time paraprofessional

--approved the extra-curricular coaches for the coming school year

--employed Ray Karnes and Delbert Magnus as full time custodians

--employed Dana Pasley as junior high assistant softball coach

--approved a three-year contract with district support staff members
