Helen Matthes Library will celebrate National Library Week April 13-19. The theme of this year's National Library Week is "Lives Change @ Your Library". The Library
has planned a week full of programs and events.

Monday April 14

Crafternoon at 4 p. m for ages 10+. All tweens and teens are welcome to join in as they recycle cans into colorful bird feeders. Registration required.

Journey into Dyslexia at 6 p. m. Join the Effingham Rotary groups for a free showing of the acclaimed documentary, Journey into Dyslexia. The documentary profiles
students and adults with dyslexia who share their experiences of struggling in school and then succeeding in life. No registration required.

Tuesday April 15

Children's Story Time at 10 a. m. No registration is required.

In honor of National Library Week, Helen Matthes Library would like to invite you to a customer appreciation event a British Tea Party from 10:30 a. m. to Noon. Enjoy
some British Tea and British Biscuits (cookies) as they celebrate National Library Week by saying thank you for all your support. No registration required.

Dr. Who Party at 4 p. m. for ages 10+. Calling all Whovians! Join us for a Dr. Who Party. They'll make edible sonic screwdrivers and Adipose, have photo ops in the
Tardis and talk all things Dr. Who. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite doctor. No registration required.

New Release Tuesday - Saving Mr. Banks at 6 p. m. Come enjoy a showing of "Saving Mr. Banks" (PG-13, 120 minutes) on the Big Wall. Free popcorn! Captioning
available. No registration required.

Wednesday April 16

Grant Writing for Non-Profits from 10 a. m. to Noon. Looking for grant money for your organization? Join Johnna Schultz, Adult Services Manager, as she walks you
through the grant writing process and shares tips for finding donors in the area. Registration required.

Thursday April 17

Daytime Book Club -The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes at 10 a. m. See the Check Out Desk to request a copy of the book. Registration required.

Friday, April 18

The Library will be closed for Good Friday

Meet Local Author Kristen Allen from 10 a. m. to Noon. Join them in the Reading Room as they welcome local author, Kristen Allen. Kristen will have copies of her book,
Beneath the Surface for sale. On a boat dive, Larayne is tossed into a fated string of events leaving her alone at sea. Panicked and losing all hope, two unlikely
companions come to her rescue. Kristen Allen is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She has been an active scuba diver since 2010 and one day
aspires to become a certified instructor. She currently works at a veterinary clinic in Ohio. No registration required.
