Illinois residents want to see the temporary state income tax go away. A poll conducted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute showed over 60 percent of respondents are against making the tax permanent.

The study also showed that Illinoisans are hesitant about cutting government programs to offset lost revenue.  Governor Quinn is expected to address these topics during his budget speech on Wednesday.
