The Village of Cowden is inviting the public to join the community for a Special Day of Honor.
The Illinois Department of Transportation will be erecting memorial signs for the Village of Cowden in honor of the late Jeremy Hubbard, Village police officer who was killed in a high-speed chase on August 10, 2010.
The service of dedication of the Route 128 memorial signs will be held at 11am on August 10, the two-year anniversary of Officer Hubbard's death at the Cowden Community Building. Those scheduled to attend include State Senator Kyle McCarter, members of the ILCOPS, Effingham County Sheriff John Monnet, and Shelby County Sheriff Mike Miller.
Cowden Mayor Loren Barnes and the family of Officer Hubbard are inviting all family and friends to the special dedication service.
